Councillors

There are currently three Liberal Democrat Councillors in Havant:

Ann Buckley

12 Park Lane, Bedhampton, PO9 3HN - 023 92473512

Ann BuckleyI have lived in Havant now for over 30 years. In 2004 I was elected to Hampshire County Council at a bi-election and then retuned again six months later for a four-year term. I was also elected to Havant Borough Council in May 2007 to represent the Bedhampton ward on the Borough Council.

I am a member of the Institute of Housing and have spent most of my working life with local authorities and housing associations in London and Hampshire. I have specialised in sheltered housing for older people and in adapting houses for people with disabilities. For twelve years I ran a Home Improvement Agency in East Hampshire organising the repair and maintenance of older peoples houses working closely with the local building trade. I have a very strong interest in older persons issues.

I have two daughters and two little grandsons and education is of particular interest. I have served as a parent governor at both Fairfield and Bosmere schools I have also been very active in Parent Teacher Associations and served as Chair of the Governors.

At Hampshire County Council I represent over 25,000 people and as well as dealing with local issues in Warren Park, West Leigh, Bedhampton and Leigh Park I am on a number of committees. I have a strong interest in health issues and I sit on the Hampshire Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee. I am also a member of Standing Committee on Religious Education, the Hampshire Gypsy and Traveller Panel, Havant Museum Committee, the Leigh Park Consultative Forum and the Havant Thicket Reservoir Panel. I am also a member of the Havant HAT, which brings all the Havant County Councillors together for meetings with local residents and community groups.

My interest in coastal issues has brought me onto the Chichester Harbour Conservancy and SCOPAC the Standing Conference on Problems Associated with the Coast.

At Havant Borough Council I work on District Council matters in Bedhampton. I am a member of the Standards Committee and the Strategy and Regeneration Committee I also am a deputy member on Licensing and Staffing Matters and attend many local meetings which gives me regular contact with residents.

My email address at Hampshire County Council is ann.buckley@hants.gov.uk and at Havant Borough Council is ann.buckley@havant.gov.uk - please contact me if you have any issues and I will do my best to help.
